“I can accept failure cause everyone fails at something, but I can’t accept not trying”. Dribble after dribble, shot after shot, keeping him always motivated and making his dreams come true, made him who he is now. Michael Jordan, a regular athlete like no other, made his dream of becoming a pro basketball player come true. Being like no other meant he had to work as hard like others, but what made him different from everyone else was his great effort of always giving it all he had to be the best. At the beginning point of his career Michael Jordan was cut from the varsity basketball team. Instead of giving up on his dream he flipped it into a positive thing and trained harder and became more interested into basketball, which motivated him more, to be the best he could be.
I consider myself a beginner to life, I am getting through high school and then I am going to move on to intermediate. Where I go to college and get my career started. When I am done with school and actually get the job or career I am looking for then its when I am going consider myself an expert at life. Michael Jordan inspires me to push through life even when you don’t get what you want. He has been a great inspiration to me and has proved that anything is possible when you give it time and effort. I am like Michael Jordan because I never like to give up. Even when others say something is not possible I like to show them that everything is possible when you dedicate it time and effort.
The reason why I choose this opening and closing combo is because it helps my writing not end like a pancake but like a concert. It brings in the reader and it makes meaning early. it helps tie in my ideas because with the opening paragraph I can make a short story that explains my main points and from their then everything else just begins to fall together and all my ideas beging to come together and they end smoothly. I want the reader to understand how my icon has inspired me and my place in the continuum of icons by the time they are done reading it. I also want them to understand my point of view of a continuum. I would also want the readers to learn more about the life my icon and what his inspirations where and who or what he looked up too.
